The 2017 Greene County Fair queen will be crowned Friday, July 14, at 6:30 pm at Clover Hall on the fairgrounds in Jefferson. The fair queen will represent Greene County in the State Fair queen pageant next month.
Gwen Black, Mariah Durlam, Emily Heupel and Hannah Stein are candidates.
Gwen Black will be a senior at Greene County High School. She is involved in 4-H, FFA, National Honor Society, student council, Interact and cheerleading. She is the daughter of Chad and Shannon Black.
Mariah Durlam graduated from GCHS in May. She is in the 4-H horse club and in FFA, and was a manager for wrestling, basketball and softball, and a cheerleader also. She is the daughter of Justin Durlam and Mindy Bartley Durlam.
Emily Heupel graduated from GCHS in May. She is active in 4-H, and during high school she was a member of National Honor Society, Interact and student council. She played on the volleyball, and golf teams. She is the daughter of Dave and Kristen Heupel.
Hannah Stein also graduated from GCHS in May. In school she was a member of National Honor Society, Interact and student council. She was on the large group speech team, the volleyball team and the track team. She is the daughter of Gerry and Carrie Stein.
The new queen will be crowned by 2016 Greene County Fair queen Abby Badger.
